Hey, I am Shelly, and m new here, so, ignore if I do something wrong.

I really want to turn off my active status on Instagram because whenever I start scrolling, many people start messaging me, it seems, i am visible to them online, so they start bugging. I want to know how can I turn off my active status on my Insta?

Regarding your question, it is annoying to get chats all the time, so turning off the activity status.

For this, go to your phone, and do this

Open the Instagram app or go to the website.

Go to your Profile.

Tap the menu icon (☰) or Settings icon.

Select Settings and Privacy (or Settings and Activity on mobile).

Tap Messages and story replies.

Tap Show activity status.

Toggle Show activity status to off.
