Hey, why would you want to hide your following list btw?

But, if you do, I think Just block them! If not block, I think you can just make your profile Private. And that's it.

I think yes, you can do it. But for this you have to make your account Private so no one can access your profile details including followers and following lists.

For hiding the following list on Instagram from followers follow these steps:

Go to your profile.
Tap the three lines in the top right corner.
Tap Settings and privacy, then go to Account privacy.
Turn Private account on.

Now, only people if requested to follow you, and if you approve then only they can see your following list.

Secondaly, If you don’t want specific people to see your following list:

Go to their profile.
Tap the three dots in the top right.
Tap Block.

I hope this helps!
They won’t be able to view your profile or your following list.
